Textile dyeing mills, chemical processing units, and lead-acid battery manufacturing plants present some of the most aggressive working conditions for industrial floors in Pakistan. Facilities must withstand continuous exposure to concentrated acids, alkalis, dyes, and rapid temperature fluctuations from steam cleaning.
When cold water or ambient room temperature floors are suddenly blasted with 100°C+ live steam or hot effluent water, standard tiles crack due to thermal shock. Specially engineered acid-resistant technical tiles overcome thermal and chemical stress simultaneously.
Thermal shock occurs when rapid expansion or contraction creates internal tensile stresses within a tile. High-grade industrial tiles prevent thermal failure through:
| Industry / Zone | Primary Exposure | Recommended Tile Grade | Grout / Adhesive Specification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Textile Dyeing & Bleaching | Hot dye liquors, boiling water, caustics | Marjan Heavy Duty R11/R12 | 3-Component Epoxy Grout |
| Battery Acid Charging Rooms | Concentrated sulfuric acid (pH 1-2) | Marjan Vitrified Acid-Proof Tile | Silicate / Furan / Epoxy Mortar |
| Food Processing & Dairy | Lactic acid, hot water steam wash | Marjan Technical Porcelain R10 | Antibacterial Epoxy Grout |
Marjan technical tiles can safely withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 150°C and sudden thermal shock discharges up to 120°C without cracking or thermal delamination.
